YAMAICHI-BEKKAN — Halal & Vegan Japanese Cuisine at the Miyajima Gateway

Humble beginnings have kept Yamaichi alive and well on Miyajima Island for some time as a family run inn, hotel and restaurant. The restaurant is found on the main level, and a second Yamaichi is located down the street for large groups. They are a favorite of vegetarians and vegans. More recently, however, they started catering to Muslims too, providing them with halal dishes and even a prayer room. Yamaichi takes its commitment to the special needs of their customers very seriously. For example, their meat is not only halal but they keep different cookware just to prepare the halal menu. The owner, Teppei-san, believes that all people should be welcome irregardless of their religious differences.
